Shinde’s attack came in the wake of the terrorist attack on the Pathankot Air Force Base, which went on for three days. Shinde said that BJP Pakistan policy was not consistent with what the party line before 2014.

He indicated that there was a stark difference between what they had preached before BJP had come to power and what they are practising now. Comparing Pathankot attack to 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Shinde said that PM Modi should reminisce his opinions on security lapses at that time
