An Assistant police Sub-Inspector of Vaishaligarh police station was shot down by an unidentified miscreants in Vaishali district of Bihar.
His service revolver was also looted.
SP Rakesh Kumar said body of deceased police official Ashok Kumar Yadav was recovered from inundated land on road side along Hajipur- Lalganj highway near Manua village under Sadar police station of the district.
Meanwhile the Director General of Police P K Thakur has sought report about this incident from the district administration.
LJP President Ram Vilas Paswan has condemned and said that law and order in the state has deteriorated.
