Prime Minister Narendra Modi today stressed upon the need to have a system of preventive heath care. Speaking at the inauguration of Patanjali Research Institute in Haridwar, Mr Modi said sanitation can contribute a lot in this direction. He referred to the progress made by India in the field of innovation and said young Indians have proved their mettle in the field of IT.

Mr Modi said, Yoga is necessary for the purification of the mind, body and the soul. He commended the role of Baba Ramdev in making Yoga a people’s movement across the world. He said this is why International Yoga Day is being celebrated every year. The Prime Minister released World Herbal Encyclopedia on the occasion.

Earlier this morning , Mr Modi visited the holy Himalayan Shrine of Kedarnath, where he participated in the first Rudrabhishek on the opening of the temple portals after the winter closure. He was accompanied by the State Governor, Dr. K.K.Paul and Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat.
