Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi Friday joined army veterans in Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to show solidarity with the ex servicemen demanding One Rank One Pension scheme. Talking to reporters, Mr Gandhi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give a date by which OROP will be implemented.

He said Prime Minister should fulfill the promise he made to war veterans. Saying that people from armed forces and jawan spend their lives on the border protecting people, Mr Gandhi said they should not be removed as they are protesting for their right.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also came out in support of ex-servicemen and requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce acceptance of their demands. In a series of tweets, he also criticized their eviction ahead of Independence Day at Jantar Mantar.
