Prime Minister Narendra Modi also called up Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal today and discussed various issues including the floods, COVID-19 and Baghjan oil well fire.
Mr. Sarbanand Sonowal appraised the Prime Minister of the prevailing conditions and measures being taken by the Assam government.
The Prime Minister assured all help to Assam to tackle the situations. Meanwhile, the flood condition in the state improved today. But 27 lakh people are still affected in 25 districts. 81 persons have lost their lives so far due to floods. Relief measures are being taken by the administration on war footing. 85 percent of the areas of the Kaziranga National Park is still submerged and the Park Authorities have rescued 134 animals so far.
