Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Israel tomorrow on the first leg of his a two-nation tour. The visit is historic as Mr Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel. Also, this year, both countries are commemorating 25 years of diplomatic relations.

During his visit, Mr Modi will hold talks with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on all matters of mutual interest. He will also call on President Reuven Rivlin. The two sides are expected to set up a high-level mechanism for water management, agriculture and innovation. Agreements on cyber security, science and technology and space are expected to be signed.

Indian Ambassador to Israel Pavan Kapoor said, Mr Modi’s visit will strengthen the relations between India and Israel. In the second and final leg of his tour, Mr Modi will visit Hamburg in Germany for the 12th G-20 Summit.
