Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that reforms in governance are his top priority and the government wants simplified procedures, speedy decision-making, transparency and accountability.

Mr Modi was addressing a group of 42 CEOs of Fortune 500 firms in New York today over dinner. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said that these companies primarily represented manufacturing and infrastructure sectors and the Prime Minister discussed Make in India, Skill India and smart city projects with them.

Earlier, Prime Minister had a series of meetings with business leaders representing Financial Sector, Media and Communication and the Infrastructure sectors. In the media briefing India’s Ambassador to US Arun Singh said that the business leaders appreciated the programmes launched by the government for Make in India, Skill India, Smart City and renewable energy.
