Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with his Canadian and British counterparts on the sidelines of the Nuclear Summit here. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked Canada to invest in the fields of clean and renewable energy and hydrocarbon sectors in India. Mr. Modi held bilateral meeting with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau. Briefing media persons in Washington, MEA Spokesperson Vikas Swaroop said the two leaders discussed co-operation in the field of climate change, environment and infrastructure and decided to take bilateral relations to higher level.

Mr Swaroop said, Canada has agreed to the Prime Minister’s proposal to invest in coal classification and mining sectors.

During his bilateral talks with his British counterpart David Cameron, Mr Modi asked United Kingdom to invest in defence sector under Make In India programme. The MEA spokesperson said that Mr Cameron responded positively to the Prime Minister’s proposal to issue visas liberally to Indian IT professionals to work in the United Kindgom.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi later left for Saudi Arabia after wrapping up his visit to United States.
