Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with school children of Naraur village in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. He asked them to learn various skills including sports along with regular syllabus.

Celebrating his 68th birthday with students, Mr Modi advised them not to be afraid of asking questions as it is a key aspect of learning. The Prime Minister reached Varanasi this evening on a two-day visit. Mr Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various development projects worth over 500 crore rupees tomorrow.

This school has a unique ‘Room to Read’ a new learning method. On entering the room to read, Prime Minister made himself comfortable on the Dhurrie.

The children ask the Prime Minister about his childhood as only a child can with wonder and excitement and the Prime Minister responds affectionately.

Birthdays are very important occasions in a child’s life and the children certainly did not disappoint wishing the Prime Minister with post cards and special greetings.

And just as the Prime Minister was about to leave a child asked him whether he too felt frightened sometimes.

Next it was the turn of the smart class where audio visuals and poetry keep the students engaged.

The Q and A session didn’t end there. It was the turn of special students to seek answers from the Prime Minister. And as an encouraging mentor he told them that as students, it is vital to ask questions. Never feel afraid to seek answers. He also said students must give importance to sports.

As he walked onto DLW lawns the figure 68 greeted him. Here he interacted with young volunteers who teach children of ragpickers at Kashi Vidyapeeth.

Sitting under a tree with gen next at his knee. Prime Minister Modi became one with them…putting his arms around them…showing interest in their art work and even turning guru.

Prime Minister Modi spent his 68th birthday sharing the mantra of life with these under privileged children…giving them a special gift…the gift to dream and chase their dreams…
