The Prime Minister has asked the Home Minister and the Minister for Law and Justice to call on the Chief Justice of India and take urgent steps to beef up security arrangements in the Supreme Court complex.

On Wednesday Chief Justice of India justice S.H.Kapadia expressed willingness to have parliament house like security cover for Supreme Court. Expressing concern over terror blast at Delhi High Court, the Chief Justice Kapadia even asked the senior counsel and Rajya Sabha member Abhishek Manu Singhvi to provide a detailed note on the security system in the parliament house complex and the estimated cost of such an arrangement in the Supreme Court.

13 people were killed and nearly 90 injured in Wednesday’s blast caused by a bomb in a briefcase placed at the busy Gate No 5 entrance to the Delhi High Court.
