man ki baatPrime minister Narendra Modi today called upon the countrymen to make ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ a mass movement. Expressing deep concern over declining child sex ratio in 100 districts of the country, Mr Modi said, the situation particularly in Haryana is very grave. In his Mann ki Baat programme on All India Radio, the Prime minister lauded Sarpanch of Bibipur village in Haryana, Sunil Jaglan for taking initiative and posing a selfie with his daughter. Mr Modi urged all fathers to follow Jaglan’s example and post selfie with their daughters on social media #selfiewithdaughter.

Saying India is full of diversities, the Prime minister said be it in architecture, mountains, rivers, art or handicraft the country is having vast potential to take tourism to greater heights.

Mr Modi complimented all countrymen for overwhelming participation and making International Yoga Day on June 21st a grand success. He said Yoga became a unifying factor across the globe. The Prime Minister urged youngsters especially IT professionals to start online Yoga activity.

The Prime minister said the nation is a witnessed to this government’s performance. He said once a goal is set, it can be achieved and his government is working tirelessly in this direction.

Stressing the need for water conservation, the Prime minister said every drop of water counts and all efforts should be made to conserve rain water. He said, Gandhiji’s house in Porbander, though built centuries back is a shining example how water is conserved.

Saying the government is initiating various schemes to revamp urban India, the Prime minister called for a cleanliness drive in the cities specially during the monsoon season. He asked youth and voluntary organisations to plant trees during the monsoon season.

He asked the people to gift, recently launched Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bema Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana, to their sisters on the forthcoming Rakshabandhan festival.
