Prime Minister Narendra Modi today welcomed the Supreme Court judgment on triple talaq, describing it as ‘historic’ and a ‘powerful measure for women empowerment’.
Reacting to the apex court striking down instant triple talaq as ‘unconstitutional’, the Prime Minister tweeted ‘Judgment of the Hon’ble SC on Triple Talaq is historic.
It grants equality to Muslim women and is a powerful measure for women empowerment. ‘ The Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar, delivered a split verdict (3:2) in the case.
