PM MOdiTaking strong exception to public complaints and grievances in customs and excise sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said strict action should be taken against the officials for their failure to redress public grievances.

In his interaction with Secretaries through ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, PRAGATI, Mr Modi urged them to set up a system for top-level monitoring of grievances immediately.

An official release said, Mr Modi also reviewed the progress of vital infrastructure projects in road, railway, coal, power and renewable energy sectors in States. The Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link, the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor and the Jal Marg Vikas Project from Allahabad to Haldia are among the significant projects reviewed.

He also reviewed the progress of the Ujjwal Discom Assurance Yojana. Reviewing the implementation of National Old Age Pension Scheme, Mr Modi emphasized the need to ensure that beneficiaries receive the payment on time.
