floodS 2Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced 2 lakh rupees each for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives in the floods in Assam and Rajasthan. In a tweet, Mr Modi also announced 50 thousand rupees each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for those seriously injured. As many as 79 people lost their lives in the devastating floods in Assam this year while 16 people had died in rain-related incidents in Rajasthan.

Prime Minister has also approved 2 lakh rupees each for the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to a building collapse in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. He also approved 50 thousand each for those injured in the incident. Last week, 17 people had lost their lives while 12 were injured when Sai Apartment in Ghatkopar collapsed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam tomorrow to take stock of the flood situation and the relief work in the State.

In a tweet, PMO said, during his visit, Mr Modi will meet Chief Ministers and top officials of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland to review the flood situation.
