Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, payment through use of biometric finger print will start in India in two weeks time. Addressing a function in New Delhi, Mr Modi asked citizens to do at least 5 digital transactions daily from January 1 to promote less-cash economy. He said, India has united to defeat ills in the economy despite inconveniences.

Mr. Modi launched a Mobile App- BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) which will enable easier digital payments and transactions. He said, the BHIM App is very simple to use and will immensely benefit the citizens.

He said, the Lucky Grahak Yojana and DigiDhan Vyapar Yojana are Christmas gifts to the nation. Mr. Modi also said, the mega draw will take place on 14th April, the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
