In a special mention drawing the attention of Rajya Sabha chairman, Paswan also demanded compensation of Rs 20 lakh each, be paid to the family of the deceased and criminal proceedings be initiated against the guilty police officers who were responsible for killing the innocent people.

He also demanded removal of the wall erected by authorities on the road blocking movement on the 50 year old road connecting Bhajanpur village to Forbilsganj.

Soon after the incident, Paswan said, he had visited the village where the ghastly incident occurred, and after ascertaining the facts, had met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who had assured him that he would instruct Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for appropriate action.

He further told the Rajya Sabha chairman that in this connection he also met chairman of National Human Rights Commission as well as the head of National Minority Commission. Yet no action had been taken against the guilty persons.

“It is amazing that despite this horrible atrocity no official responsible for the incident had been removed,” Paswan informed the chairman of Rajya Sabah.

Four persons from Rampur and Bhajanpur villages of Forbesganj block in Araria,  were killed by police indiscriminate firing on June 3.  Local people were protesting against the blockade of the road connecting the two villages for building a factory.
