Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today challenged the Congress to show the UPA government order blacklisting the Anglo-Italian helicopter maker AgustaWestland in connection with the VVIP chopper scam. Talking to media, Mr Parrikar said his Ministry was examining the Italian court order.
Mr Parrikar questioned Congress’ claim on blacklisting AgustaWestland Company. He said, will make a statement on the issue in the Parliament explaining all apprehensions.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi said her party has nothing to hide in Agusta deal. She said, the present government has almost completed two years in power at the Centre, but it failed to complete the inquiry into the matter. The deal is related to purchase of 12 helicopters for VVIPs from Italian manufacturer, Finmeccanica during UPA rule.
