Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that a 2-member committee will be send to Pampore to look into lapses, so that such incidents don’t recur.
He expressed condolences to the families of martyrs of Pampore.
He said our CRPF personnel fought bravely in Pampore on Saturday, they successfully neutralized 2 terrorists.
On Saturday, in a major strike, two terrorists were gunned down and eight CRPF Jawans martyred in retaliatory action by security personnel in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The incident took place at Frestbal in Pampore when the terrorists fired at a bus carrying CRPF personnel.
The Road Opening Party of the CRPF retaliated.
Two terrorists were also killed in the shootout. Over three dozen more CRPF personnel were also injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of those Matyred jawans who laid down their lives in Pampore.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister also wished speedy recovery to those injured.
On Sunday, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti paid homage to 8 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in Pampore terror attack on Saturday. Condemning the terror attack, Mufti said the assault was aimed at subverting peace and development initiatives launched by the state government.
She added that because of the terrorism many countries have stopped their people to come to Kashmir.
Two terrorist killed in Uri Sector
In another terror incident in Jammu & Kashmir, two terrorists were killed as an encounter broke out between them and security forces last evening in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Acting on a tip-off about presence of terrorists in Lachipora area of Uri, a joint team of police and the army launched a search operation in the area.
As security forces were carrying out the search operation, militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter in which the two militants were killed.
The search operation was going on when last reports came in.
A huge cache of arms & ammunitions seized.
