Palm Sunday was observed with devotion across Keralam today, marking the beginning of Holy Week. Special prayers and processions were held in churches. Devotees carried leaves, symbolising the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday marks the start of Easter observances, leading up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday. At several prominent churches, including St. Joseph’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Palayam and St. Mary’s Cathedral Pattom in Thiruvanathapuram, large congregations were seen, with authorities making necessary arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the ceremonies.
