The Pakistani Army today opened fire and shelled mortars along the LoC in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Defence sources said that at about 0730 hours today, Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing of small arms & intense shelling with mortars in hanaka, Kalsia Maan Pur and Baba khori area in Nowshera Sector of district Rajouri.
A residential house and a cow shed were damaged in Dhanaka village. Two goats were also killed in Pakistani shelling.
The Indian Army effectively retaliated. However, there was no loss of human life reported on our side of the border. Pakistani troops had shelled areas along the LoC in Mankote and Khari Karmara sectors of Poonch district on Monday and Tuesday
