Congress has said Pakistan needs to take action against the terror syndicate in its territory. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, senior party leader Anand Sharma said India’s position on the issue is consistent and firm. He said no one should give a larger than life profile to Hurriyat as it has no locus standi and it does not represent people of Jammu and Kashmir and India.
Taking a dig at the government, Mr Sharma said diplomacy and statecraft are delicate issues and this government lacks both in dealing with Pakistan. Asserting that India’s principled position is that talks should have a pre-condition of dismantling terror which operates from Pakistan’s soil. He said Pakistan is using the build-up to NSA level talks for propaganda purposes against India’s interests. He demanded the details of the Ufa Agreement should be made public as the country doesn’t know on what India agreed to.
