Pakistan’s caretaker government today decided to shift jailed former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad from Adiala prison after he suffered serious cardiac complications.
Sharif is serving a 10-year jail term in a corruption case. He has been lodged in the Jail in Rawalpindi since 13th of this month.
The decision was taken by the Punjab government which has administrative control of the Adiala prison after a team of doctors recommended that Sharif needed proper medication and care after irregular ECG and blood reports. He had open heart surgery in 2016 and has been also suffering from hypertension and diabetes.
