At least 70 Indian fishermen captured by Pakistani Maritime security agency have been taken to Karachi port. Gujarat based fishermen had been detained with their 11 boats on Sunday morning, while they were cross over to the international maritime boundry in Arabian Sea near Gulf of Kutch.

According to Secretary of National Fish forum- Manish Lodhari, Pakistani security agency had also fired on one boat, which was sunk after caught fire. However, no casualty has been reported as they have been rescued by the fishermen of fellow boats.

All 70 Indian fishermen captured by the Pakistan are belonging to Gujarat. According to sources, the fishing boats captured by Pakistan are belong to Porbandar, Veraval, Mangrol and Okha, while fishermen are from Vapi, Valsad, Diu and Junagadh.

Pakistan had detained about 88 Indian fishermen during the last October. Apart from hardships in Pakistani jails, the detained fishermen are also facing big loss due to their boats seized by Pakistan. Such repeated incidents have spread anger among the fishermen community of the state.
