Top US intelligence officials have told lawmakers that Pakistan is harbouring terrorists and using them as reserve in Afghanistan. Director of Defense Intelligence Agency, Lt. Gen.
Vincent Stewart told this to members of the Senate Armed Services Committee during a Congressional hearing on worldwide threats. He said, Pakistan needs to be told very clearly that Afghanistan’s security and stability is in the interest of all the parties in the region and does not pose a risk to Pakistan.
Stewart also said, continued threat of high level terror attacks in India, violence in Kashmir and bilateral diplomatic recriminations will further strain the Indo-Pak ties.
Director of National Intelligence, Dan Coats told the lawmakers that there is need to evaluate how to address the situation of Pakistan harbouring terrorists.
