Delhi Police has arrested Samajwadi Party’s MP Munvvar Saleem’s personal assistant in connection with the espionage racket involving a Pakistan high commission official. He was detained last night from the residence of Mr. Saleem in New Delhi and was arrested this afternoon after prolonged questioning.
Delhi Police is also trying to nab other members of the racket who are believed to have been in close contact with Pakistan High Commission staffer Mehmood Akhtar who was expelled from the country. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party leader has said he had appointed the arrested person as his PA a year back after due parliamentary checks. He said, he is ready to extend all support during probe.
This is the fourth arrest in the case. Earlier on Wednesday, two residents of Nagaur, Rajasthan, were held along with the Pakistan High Commission staffer. Besides, a Jodhpur based visa agent was also arrested in this case.
