Pakistan today violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing on Indian forward posts and civilian areas in border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Defence Spokesperson, at 1135 hrs Pakistani Army opened unprovoked fire on civilian areas and Indian forward posts along Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote Sector of Poonch which continued till 1235 hrs.
However, Indian troops deployed on the border retaliated and gave a befitting reply to the Pak firing. No damage was caused on this side by Pak firing. Last evening Pak army had targeted Degwar sector of Poonch district using small arms and shelling with mortars.
AIR Jammu Correspondent reports that frequent ceasefire violations and unprovoked and indiscriminate firing by Pakistani troops are creating a sense of insecurity among border dwellers.
The border dwellers are demanding that more and more bunkers be constructed in the border areas so that they can save themselves from frequent shelling and firing by Pakistani troops
