After the last day of withdrawal of nominations for the second phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly elections to be held on November 20., 1148 candidates are in the fray in 72 constituencies.

Our correspondent reports that after the scrutiny, nomination papers of one thousand two hundred forty nine candidates were found valid.

Out of this, one hundred and one candidates have withdrawn their nominations.

One hundred and ninety candidates are contesting from eighteen seats, which are going to polls in the first phase on November 12.

One thousand three hundred thirty eight candidates are contesting from 90 constituencies of the state.

In the previous Assembly polls held in the year 2013, a total of nine hundred and eighty five candidates had contested the elections.
