KABUL
US and NATO forces commander in Afghanistan General John Nicholson has said their mission is to stand with the Afghan people in fighting against the common enemy, terrorism.
“The brave men and women of the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces and the people of Afghanistan have my personal assurance that we remain committed to our Afghan partners and our mission in Afghanistan,” the US general was quoted in a statement issued by the coalition in Kabul.
“The United States and the NATO-led Resolute Support are firm in our resolve to create a secure, stable and peaceful Afghanistan,” Nicholson said.
“All too often it is clear that the enemies of Afghanistan offer nothing for the future of this beautiful country and its people.”
He said they would carry out their mission and would remain steadfast. (Pajhwok)
