Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday alleged that there is a planned campaign against the state by political opponents to tarnish its image.
He was speaking at a seminar organised by Delhi Union of Journalist on the subject of ‘Democracy in danger; Unethical reporting/attack on Independent journalism and journalists’, in Delhi.
Mr Vijayan’s allegations come at a time when the BJP and the central government have been on the path of prolonged clash with the CPI(M) led Kerala government on the ‘’political violence ‘’in the state.
Mr Vijayan alleged that several media houses, including national media have been ferociously attacking Kerala by their ‘biased and one-sided’ reporting against the state.
Pointing recent issues like sedition charges against students, killing of activists like Dabholkar, Pansare and Kalburgi he said “voices of opposition or dissent are being threatened with dire consequences.
