Leaders of several Opposition parties, including Congress, CPI, CPI (M), NCP, DMK, AAP and TMC, today met President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan and raised the issue of alleged suspicious death of Justice B H Loya.

LOYATalking to media after the meeting, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said, the leaders conveyed to the President that it appears that Justice Loya’s death took place in suspicious circumstances.

Mr Gandhi said the matter should be probed by a SIT of independent officers selected and monitored by the Supreme Court. He said, 114 MPs from 15 parties signed a memorandum and submitted it to the President. The leaders requested the President to intervene in the matter.
