A seven member defence delegation from the Sultanate of Oman, concluded its two day visit to the Southern Naval Command in Kochi on Friday.

The delegation, led by the Secretary General of the Oman Ministry of Defence, Dr Mohammed Bin Nasser Bin Ali Al-Zaabi interacted with the Flag Officer Commanding – in – Chief of the Southern Naval Command, Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi. The delegation members also held discussions on various defence cooperation issues with officials of the Indian Navy.

The Oman delegation visited the Cochin Shipyard, where the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier, Vikrant is being built. They also visited the Navigational & Direction School and the Diving School of the Indian Navy.

Prior to their visit to Kochi, the delegation attended the 11th meeting of India-Oman Joint Military Cooperation Committee at New Delhi, aimed at enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries.
