Assam DGP Kula Saikia has said that North Eastern states are mulling to set up North East Police in the line of Interpol to prevent crime. Participating in a talk show of All India Radio in Guwahati last evening, Mr. Saikia said that the step would help to fight against terrorism in more coordinated efforts in North East.
The new DGP has said that operation against militants will be intensified across the state particularly in Upper Assam. He also said that the Assam Police has given utmost priority to prevent crime against women and children.
The DGP assured that there would not be any law and order problem in the state during the publish of final draft of National Register of Citizens. The draft will be published on 30th of next month.
