RijijuThe Centre has expressed hope that the North East will become the most vibrant economic hub of the country. Talking to newspersons in Guwahati Saturday, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said that North East will be transformed in the next 1 decade due to the Act East policy.

He said that North East has made tremendous rise under the rule of BJP. The minister said that peace talks with several militant outfits including ULFA Progressive group are almost in the final stage. He said that demands of ULFA Progressive group are genuine and Home ministry is taking step to give final shape in this direction.

He also said that Naga peace process is going on smoothly and assured that no territorial integrity of other states including Assam will be compromised. He said that his ministry will handle strictly anti-national forces who are trying to create problem in the region. He, however, said that law and order situation in North East has been improved.

On the updation of National Register of Citizens (NRC), he said that the Centre is fully supporting in the process.
