In Uttarakhand, the filing of nominations for the Lok Sabha election ended this evening. BJP’s Ajay Bhatt submitted his nomination from Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar in the presence of senior BJP leaders and party workers today. Congress candidate Prakash Joshi has also filed his nomination from this seat.
On the other hand, Ajay Tamta of BJP and Pradeep Tamta of Congress filed their nominations from the Almora (Reserved) parliamentary constituency. Meanwhile, Congress candidate from the Garhwal seat Ganesh Godiyal submitted his nomination papers in the presence of Congress workers and senior party leaders. Congress candidate Virendra Rawat and BSP candidate Maulana Jameel Ahmed Kazmi also filed their nominations from the Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency. The scrutiny of nominations will take place tomorrow and the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures is the 30th of this month. Voting for all five Lok Sabha seats in the state will be held in the first phase on the 19th of April.
