The Civil Aviation Ministry has decided not to operate flights to Kolkata from six cities of four States from Monday . According to official sources the cities are Delhi , Chennai , Mumbai , Nagpur , Pune and Ahemadabad. The restrictions will remain in force till 19th of this month or until further orders.
The steps are aimed at containing the spread of Carona virus . Earlier , the West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee has urged the Centre for regulated operations of domestic flights from highly infected States. She also appealed for curbing of International flight operations to Kolkata in view of surging COVID cases.
