NITI Aayog today reviewed and discussed the mission of Coal India Limited to produce one billion tonnes of coal by 2025-26. Commerce and Industry Ministry said the meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant. The Ministry said, coal remains the primary domestic fuel for India as well as the single largest commodity transported across the country. It said, the mining, supply, and consumption of coal are central to the growth of the Indian economy. The Ministry said, PM Gati Shakti Mission will reduce the logistics cost for coal evacuation.
