LUCKNOW TERRORThe National Investigation Agency will probe suspected terror cases, including the Lucknow encounter in which suspected terrorist Mohammad Saifullah was killed.Home Minister Rajnath Singh explained the sequence of events in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

Six suspects in the train blast have been arrested by cops in Madhya Pradesh and UP on terror charges.

Members thumped desks when the Home Minister lauded Saifullah’s father Mohammad Sartaj for his refusal to accept his son’s body after calling his son a traitor to the nation.

Praising the co-ordination between the police forces of the two states and central agencies he said that they had successfully thwarted an attack on the country’s security. He said the NIA would be investigating both cases.

Home Minister said that the blast in the passenger train was caused by IED. MP police had rounded up three suspects from Pipariya in Hoshangabad who were later arrested after questioning. Based on answers they provided police also arrested 3 others from Itawa, Kanpur and Auraiya and followed it up with a 12-hour encounter in the Haji area in Lucknow during which Saifullah was gunned down.

Police recovered arms, foreign currency, mobile sim cards and other offensive material from him. Sartaj, Saifullah’s father stated that terrorism has no religion and that his son had been brainwashed for the past few months. He even praised Home Minsiter’s statement in the Lok Sabha.

Elsewhere in Kannauj, even the father of Saiyyad Meer Hussain who is suspected of terror activities has distanced himself from his son and said he would fully co-operate with the law. UP police has arrested prime suspect in the case MS Khan and another terrorist.

The incidents have alerted security agencies across the country. Forces in the national capital too have been put on alert as there are indications that Delhi NCR could be targeted next.

Meanwhile.. The Uttar Pradesh ATS has arrested two more suspects yesterday including a former IAF employee who they believe is the “mastermind” of a terror module that included Saifullah, a suspected terrorist killed in an Lucknow encounter.
