The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday filed charge sheet in Hindu Munnani leader C Sasikumar murder case before the NIA Special Court in Chennai.

The charge sheet was filed against two accused persons namely Sadham alias Sadham Hussain and Subair in various cases of Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Sasikumar was killed on September22, 2016 by Popular Front of India (PFI) activists near Chakra Vinayakar Temple at Thudiyalur in Coimbatore district.

The PFI is an extremist and militant Islamic fundamentalist organisation in India.

In connection of investigation, the NIA conducted searches at the houses of four accused persons on March 18 this year and recovered donation receipts PFI, literature, PFI Unity March CDs, mobile phones, compact disks and pen drives, DVD of Zakir Naik of Islamic Research Foundation and other incriminating documents relating to PFI.

The central probe agency investigation had established that Sadham alias Subair and other accused persons, all active members of PFI, conspired and killed Sasikumar brutally to strike terror among a section of people including members of Hindu organisations.
