The National Green Tribunal on Wednesday issued notices to the Uttar Pradesh government and UPPCB including the animal husbandry department related to a 6 year old boy’s plea about a poultry farm that allegedly operated illegally near his school in Shamli area causing health hazards by releasing untreated waste leading to foul smell and breeding of flies.
The student Arjun Malik through his legal representative had stated in his plea that a poultry farm running just adjacent to his school is discharging it’s waste outside the farm resulting into house flies menace in the area.
A green court bench headed by the acting Chairperson NGT Justice U D Salvi issued notices to the UP government, state pollution control board, District Magistrate Shamli, directing them to submit a compliance report within 2 weeks time.
