Nepal’s Former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane obtained the certificate of Nepali citizenship from the District Administration Office in Kathmandu.
The Supreme Court of Nepal dismissed Rabi Lamichhane’s position as a Member of Parliament on Friday, ruling that he had not completed the legal process for reviving his Nepali citizenship after renouncing his US citizenship.
After the Court’s decision, Lamichhane had to resign from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. He was elected from Chitwan Constituency-2 in the election held on the 20th of November, 2022.
