Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Nepal Kamal Thapa today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. The two leaders discussed issues of mutual concern. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also present in the meeting.
Talking to media persons before leaving for Kathmandu, Mr Thapa said, the visit has been able to clear any air of misunderstanding between the two countries and he is very optimistic.
He said, he has requested Indian government to make flow of fuel smooth and resume supply in normal way.
Mr Thapa who was on a three-day official visit to India, on Sunday had extensive talks with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed the political situation in the Himalayan nation.
External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup said, Mrs Swaraj and Mr Thapa discussed a range of bilateral issues. He said, India has always been working for peace, progress and prosperity in the neighboring country.
The spokesman also said that Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister informed Mrs Swaraj that there is a shortage of essential commodities in Nepal and sought India’s help in easing the supply situation.
