Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is the only candidate for the post of prime minister. According to Parliament Secretariat only Mr Deuba’s nomination has been received for premiership who submitted his nomination papers at Kathmandu today . Prime Minister and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) Chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal proposed his name.
Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and Loktantrik Forum President Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar supported Mr Deuba’s nomination. Nepal parliament will elect new Prime Minister tomorrow. Mr Deuba is likely to be elected prime minister as ruling coalition is having majority in the house.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had resigned from his post on May 24 as per the power sharing understanding with the coalition partner Nepali Congress. President Bidya Devi Bhandari had accepted his resignation and asked PM Dahal to continue till formation of the new government.
