Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Friday invited Indian investors to participate in the development process of the Himalayan nation.
Addressing India-Nepal Business Forum in New Delhi, Mr Oli said, Nepal is a safe investment destination following the formation of a stable government.
He said, Nepal can be a good business destination for Indian investors due to geographical access and cultural similarity with India.
Oli expressed his commitment to an open economy, allaying the doubts that the left government would retreat from its open economy.
“There is no plan to backtrack from the policy of open economy. We are committed to it,” said PM Oli.
If Indian investors can investment in different countries of the world than why not in Nepal, PM Oli questioned. He noted that Nepal is also a lucrative destination for Indian businessmen.
He underscored the need for change in social, political and cultural sectors as the political change has been institutionalised with the promulgation of new constitution.
Saying that the incumbent government is committed to make transparent and corruption-free administration, PM Oli said all sectors are open for investment.
PM Oli, who is also the Chairman of CPN-UML, said the incumbent government, backed by a three-fourths majority of the lawmakers in the Parliament, is striving to create conducive environment for investment. “Stable government means to give continuity to policy and create conducive environment for investment,” he said.
On the occasion, Indian entrepreneurs put forth their queries over necessary policy system and environment for foreign investment in Nepal.
Similarly, Nepali businessmen outlined investment sector of Nepal and said that the present time is the best and favorable for investment in terms of returns.
