Nepal’s Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli greeted the government and people of India on the occasion of 74th Independence Day today. He called Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning and conveyed his greetings. Mr. Oli also congratulated him for India’s recent election as a Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council.
Over the telephonic discussion, both the leaders expressed mutual solidarity in the context of the efforts being made to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in both countries. Mr. Modi offered India’s continued support to Nepal in this regard. He thanked Mr. Oli for his telephone call and recalled the civilizational and cultural links that India and Nepal share.
