Assam, police has gunned down a militant of NDFB Songbijit faction in Kokrajhar district. The militant was the in-charge of logistics supply to the outfit’s Bhutan camp. He was a close associate of top militant G Bidai. Additional DGP, LR Bishnoi said, security forces launched an operation at Mainaopur village this morning and an encounter broke out with the militants.
He said, one was killed, while the other managed to escape. Arms and some documents were recovered from the slain militant.
In another incident, Guwahati police arrested two suspected National Socialist Council of Nagaland Khaplang militants last night.
