The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognizance in the case of a viral video from Hubballi, Karnataka, showing a female party worker allegedly being assaulted during arrest by police personnel. The Commission has condemned the incident and issued a letter to the Karnataka Director General of Police in the matter. The DGP Karnataka has been asked to register an FIR and conduct a fair, impartial, and time-bound investigation in the case.
