Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the world is watching how India’s ‘Nari Shakti’ are proving their mettle in every field. Addressing the gathering at the annual NCC PM rally at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi on Saturday (27 January 2024) afternoon, Mr Modi said his government has opened up opportunities for nation’s daughters in sectors where their entry was previously restricted or limited. He pointed out that be it start-ups or self-help groups, women are leaving their mark in every field.
Prime Minister stated that when the country gives equal opportunity to the talent of sons and daughters, its talent pool becomes enormous. He further said that developed India will fulfill the dreams of the youth.
Mr Modi said that this year’s Republic Day parade highlighted the true essence of Nari Shakti. He expressed pride that an all-women Tri-Service contingent marched down the Kartavya Path during the parade. He noted that in todays Rally, more than 400 Sarpanches of the Vibrant Villages and more than 100 women belonging to various Self-Help Groups from different parts of the country attended as special guests.
Prime Minister said that as a former NCC cadet himself, he recalls the memories when he is present among NCC cadets. He noted the presence of cadets from different parts of the country, saying that NCC highlights the idea of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. He expressed happiness that the sphere of NCC is constantly growing.
Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, Director General of NCC, Lt. Gen. Gurbirpal Singh, Minister of State for Defence, Ajay Bhatt, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Air Staff and Chief of Naval Staff were present on the occasion among others.
The event included a cultural programme on the theme ‘Amrit Kaal Ki NCC’ showcasing the contribution and empowerment of the Amrit Peedhi. More than two thousand two hundred NCC cadets and young cadets from 24 foreign countries were part of this year’s rally.
