Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu today termed the opposition boycott in the Lok Sabha as disservice to the nation. Talking to media outside Parliament, Mr. Naidu appealed to all opposition members to come back to the House. He said the government is ready for discussion on any issue and if opposition wants, Prime Minister can intervene. The Minister attacked the Congress for opposing the suspension of 25 Lok Sabha MPs saying the party has no moral right to do so. Mr. Naidu recalled that as many as 63 MPs were suspended in 1989 during Congress rule and even in previous UPA regime some members had to face similar action.

Reacting to Congress protest over suspension of MPs, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said the action was taken as they disrespected the Parliamentary democracy. He said Congress should apologize to Lok Sabha Speaker for the behavior of its members. Mr. Javadekar refuted the allegation that NDA government is becoming dictator and said it is the Congress which has a track record of acting like a dictator and national emergency is a big example to site.
