Chandrashekhar Verma, the absconding husband of former Bihar minister Manju Verma, surrendered on Monday before a Manjhaul sub-divisional court of Begusarai district in connection with Muzaffarpur shelter home case.
The court sent him for 14 days judicial custody.
Chandrasekhar Verma, who was absconding for over a month, surrendered before the Court after a lower court and the Patna High Court repeatedly rejected his interim bail petitions.
In September, the police issued an arrest warrant against Chandrasekhar Verma in connection with an FIR registered by the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) under the Arms Act.
The CBI has seized 50 live cartridges from the former Minister’s Begusarai home.
As many as 17 people, including the main accused Brajesh Thakur, have been arrested in the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case of minor girls.
