Will file a review petition in the Babri Masjid case due to the apparent errors in the supreme court verdict: AIMPLB

“There are 10 apparent errors with many sub errors in the SC verdict. We would like to utilize all of our options given to us by law. Filing a review petition is our legal right. We respect the constitution and we are following it,” says AIMPLB

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board, AIMPLB has decided to file a review petition against the Supreme Court verdict on the Babri Masjid / Ramjanabhomi Ayodhya issue.

The decision was taken at the executive body meeting of the AIMPLB here today. Briefing media after the meeting, AIMPLB Secretary, Zafaryab Jilani said it is their right to fight for rightfulness, claiming that most of the Muslims want a review of the verdict.

The AIMPLB raised objections on several points in the apex court judgement and said the petition will be filed within the stipulated time of thirty days after the verdict. The Board said no other land or place for mosque can be accepted, adding that the Supreme Court neglected several issues of the Muslim community.

On the day of the verdict, Zafaryab Jilani had said the apex court judgement was not satisfactory. Sunni Central Waqf Board has already said that it would not file any review petition in the case.
